And Baby Makes Three

And so it has begun...

Well, I've been home for what, 6 days, and my family is already driving me nuts. They do not listen to what I say, and don't do anything! Plus my parents are already stressed so why do they need the extra problems that my younger siblings have? Tomorrow they are all supposed to mega-clean the house for Christmas Eve, but I'm doubting a lot of work will get done. Everytime I try to tell them something they either flat out ignore me or just say "no." It's so hard to get stuff done on my own too, because Caine is into everything and Josiah is so moody! How am I supposed to make it another 5 1/2 weeks?

Christmas cookies

What an experience making Christmas cookies! Now I know why my mom told us to take care of it this year! And I know Gina feels the same way about decorating the house. We did a good job, but we were pretty much starting from scratch. And I literally mean that with the cookies. But everything turned out ok, even if half of my cookies are "too thin"-and don't think nobody told me that! It was kindof stressful, and the little kids are so bad at cutting out the cookies from the dough, and they fight, and pout, but then they quit after like 2 batches, so then it was a little bit better. The house looks good, and tonight we get to decorate the cookies, which is the best part. Everybody loves that. And I always help frost them which is pretty fun. It's good frosting too. :) Today Kendrick comes home, and then our whole family is together. Christmas Eve is going to be nuts-we are having 17 people here, and that's just our family plus Josh and Laura, who are pretty much family! Crazy! There is no way we are going to fit around 1 table for dinner! It's going to be a lot of fun though. And I bought Eric's family a present, nothing big but I hadn't planned on it, and then I just decided to get them one. I hope they like it! Wow, my blogs are never very interesting. Maybe when I get back to school I will write more controversial crap.

Home for the Holidays

It's Christmas break-about time-and I finally have time to write a new post. I am so much busier at home than I was at school! And I have to do so much more work too! A lot of babysitting-and those kids have so much energy and are into everything. Caine is such a handful, and J.J. is so moody. Plus there is of course way too much cleaning to do. Tonight I have to make Christmas cookies-I actually wanted to start that already. Tomorrow we get to decorate them which is way more fun. I love the holidays, and it's very exciting that my whole family plus the 2 fiancees will be home for Christmas. Very exciting. And I finished all of my shopping today, which is also good. I think this post is highly unexciting. At least other people write stuff that you can write interesting comments on. Oh well. Nothing horribly exciting is going on in my life right now. I'm just really really busy. So I'm going to go make those Christmas cookies I guess. Kinda scary, because this is the first year that someone other than Mom is making them. Hope they turn out ok!

New Room, New Roommate, and Moving

I am now in my new room with my new roommate, Rachel. She is much nicer and friendlier than Raven and I think we'll get along pretty well. It was such a pain in the butt moving yesterday. It was only me and my friend Sigrid, so it took forever! I was so grateful that she helped me though; I think I'm going to get her a gift, but I don't know what. Plus she's on her way home already so I'll have to give it to her after break, that will give me lots of time to think! I still have to put about half of my stuff away, and then pack to go home tomorrow! And I still have a final today-that should not be hard at all though. I can't put a lot of my stuff away yet though because first I have to set up my computer, and to do that Rachel needs to move a lot of her stuff which she is going to do today. Crazy! This post is really boring, I just realized that. Maybe that's why no one comments on my blog ever? Hmmm...

Bored outa my mind

I am so completely bored right now. Tonight I studied for my only final that's not until Thursday and it's hardly a real true final because it's just a regular test on the last 3 chapters of the course, plus a few extra questions covering everything that they did. Then I tried to figure some stuff out for Gina's bachelorette party, but I needed to ask my mom some stuff but she never called back, so I couldn't do that. I did figure some stuff out but I need to send out invites or what not so I need to get it all done-it's in 2 weeks and that's not very long! And then I packed some of my things into the 2 bins that I have here so that on Wednesday I can move into my new room with my new, hopefully cooler, roommate. I still have a ton of stuff to get ready to move and pack to go home on Friday, but hey, that's Friday. However, I am bringing home a ton of junk since I'll be home for a month and a half. Then after all of that I decided I didn't want to do anything else so I watched 10 Things I Hate About You. Great movie. Heath Ledger is pretty dang hot. Sometimes I wish I could be a movie star. But we all know that's a dream that will never be a reality. I'm smarter than that-I know I can't act well, plus it's way too competitive, plus I can do better things with my life. Still, with all that money, you know what I could do? Ah well. So that's pretty much my night. I met with my theo prof to hand in my paper earlier today, and that went really well. I'm pretty much guarenteed an A in that class-thank goodness. He also thought I was a sophmore because I was so expressive with my opinions and very self-confident, which he said was not typical of first-years. Cool, huh? Wow, how sad is it that it's not even 12 and I am so bored that I'm exhausted. Guess I'll be heading to bed soon.

End of the Semester

I am so excited it's the end of the semester. I only have 1 final, which is totally cool. True, I should probably be studying for it instead of writing this, but that's a completely different point. The only bad part of that is, it's on the last day of finals so I can't go home until Friday. However, my roommate has already moved out and I'm not moving until Wednesday, so I get a few days to myself...and occasionally Eric. (I know there are going to be a gazillion comments on that) We're unfortunately not doing anything tonight, which is sad, but that means I get to study all night! oh yay! (note sarcasm) Actually, I will probably scrapbook for awhile and then watch yet another movie (my 2nd of the day). Wow, I just realized what a loser I am.

What An Idiot I Am

I did something very stupid tonight. Looking back I see I shouldn't have done it, but at the time, we (I was with some friends, and I think it was actually their idea in the first place) thought it would be a harmless practical joke. Wow, we were wrong. I think we were just being especially stupid because we were at the hospital, my friend had lost some (not a lot, just some) blood from her finger being sliced by an ice skate (that's why we were at the hospital), it was really late and we were all exhausted. Plus we were being really silly and actually having a really good time. And then we had the bad idea. So now I'm trying to fix a relationship (I think we're good now, thankfully) that should never have needed fixing. Have you ever done something so stupid that was also kinda mean, even when you honestly did not mean it to be that way, and then really had to work hard to fix it? It's like what they say-for every bad thing you say about a person you need to say at least 5 or 10 (don't really remember) things to make up for it. There is reasoning behind it-if you only tell them one good thing, they are still going to remember the bad thing. And even if you tell them 5-10 good things about them, they are still going to have the memory of that bad thing, even if they forgave you and trust that you think they are a good person. But it is that much easier to screw up the next time. And soon you get to be an untrusted, unloved person, because you accidentally insult people on multiple occasions. Where is the unconditional love in this world? Everything is so conditional, as in, I will love you forever if___________ (fill in the blank). How sad is that? I'm not saying that is how my relationship is, I'm just extending the topic of this post a little bit. Other than really screwing up, yesterday was excellent. Went to the mall with some cool people, then went ice skating in the evening with 2 great friends, one got hurt so we hung out in the ER for a few hours. That was actually a blast. We had so much time, just talking and telling funny stories, we were laughing so hard I'm surpried the doctors didn't get mad at us! And luckily, she didn't have to get stitches, just skin glue, and some cloth wrapping on her fingers. Did you know that skin glue is really just super glue, except more expensive because it's sterilized. Interesting, right? The things you learn when your friend gets her fingers sliced by an ice skate and has to go to the emergency room...

My Wondeful Boyfriend

Well, it's past 2 am and yes, I am still up. Surpisingly I know. I love college. Eric, my wonderful boyfriend and the reason for this post, left not even 20 minutes ago. (sigh) It was a great night. First, he bought me flowers and chocolate, and was so kind as to rent a movie that he knew I wanted to watch even if he didn't really (stepford wives). I thought it was an excellent movie, even though for probably most of the movie I was really mad and thought it was going to end really badly, but I was pleased with the ending. Great movie. Well, don't really know what else to say. Just that I love my boyfriend so much even if Matt and Kendrick think that they should beat him up (which I still don't understand). We are such a perfect match, it's just great. And now I need to go to sleep because I get to go to MOA tomorrow with some friends and go shopping, and I need to get up around 10 so I can shower and all that jazz before we go. Oh, by the way, will someone please clue me in as to what the heck is going on with everybody else? I, unlike everyone else, can not figure stuff out from peoples' post. For example, Kendrick. What's the deal there? I guess he is the only one I'm confused about. Man, I'm so out of it. And I live in the city! Shouldn't I know everything before everyone else since I have access to whatever I want whenever I want? Hmmm, this does not make sense. Then again, it's way late and I am way tired, so that could explain a lot...

I Hate Computers

The title says it all. I can't get on my aim because it is so stupid Eric can't even fix it. So I just had to get a new screen name because I tried it on Raven's computer and it doesn't work, and Eric's works on my computer so it's just my stupid screen name that is screwed up. So my new screen name is runnerwoman217, I know, not that much different but whatever. Plus my stupid search history somehow got cleared off my internet too. Grrr. My day was so good and now it sucks. Plus we can't even watch my movie because Raven is blasting her music again. Crappy.

Christmas

I was reading the comments on some peoples' blogs and I got the idea from my mother, off of Maria's blog, to write about Christmas. Plus I'm just in a very festive mood right now. I downloaded some Christmas music, not nearly enough but some of the true classics, and that's what I'm listening to right now. But seriously, what is up with fake Christmas trees? They don't even smell like real trees. And you can get stuff that makes them smell real, but I'm sorry nothing is as good as the real thing. How can you have a fake tree? Especially when the fun is in going out in the snow (which unfortunately we don't have quite yet) and chopping down that tree, then tying it to the vehicle or in our case in the trailer, dragging it in the house, and finally, the best part ever, decorating it. You just can't beat all of that. No way. Also, what's with the lack of snow? It feels like fall, and we're fully into December now. How sad. Well, we better have it for Christmas or that would just be depressing. I don't think there has been a Christmas yet where we haven't had snow. I don't think I could even handle that.

ugh

The only reason I am writing this blog is because I am really bored and I am trying to avoid writing my paper. I wrote another paragraph, which brings me up to a grand total of 2 paragraphs done, about 4 1/2 pages left to go. Yay. Not really. I would normally be avoiding my homework by chatting with people on my im, but we all know how that goes. I'm hungry too, and I just ate lunch an hour ago. Some sort of wrap. It was good, and I was full, but now I'm not. Well, this is so unexciting. I feel like I should write something controversial, or at least something that people will comment on. Hmmm. There is nothing exciting going on in my life. See, unlike Kendrick, I don't have a new relationship to write about. Mine is almost a year old now. And unlike Gina (and Matt) I have no wedding plans to talk about. Very sad. I guess I can talk about my nearly year-old relationship. The longest relationship I've ever been in. Almost the only relationship I've been in. Not quite, but close. It's very exciting though-being at nearly a year is totally cool. Oh, in case you don't know who I'm talking about (which you'd have to be stupid not too), read my profile and you shall see that my wonderful boyfriend who I speak of is Eric Michael Peterson, who goes to St. Thomas, which is totally cool because I get to see him all the time. Except I last saw him on Tuesday, and I don't get to see him until tomorrow. Dang. Ok, I think I've bored you enough for one post, so I guess now I am forced to go write some more of my paper before I meet with my bio group to do our test. Yay.

HELP!

I really need help with my stupid aim. I tried to sign on but it refuses to let me, telling me that apparantly "sign on blocked" and I clicked the little thing for more info, but it really doesn't help. It tells me sort of what may possibly be wrong and if that's the case then I should maybe try this, but it doesn't tell me how to do anything or what in the heck is going on! I am so frustrated and since I won't see Eric until Friday I won't be able to employ him to help me! So now I am all alone with a broken aim sign-on. Crappy. Anybody ever have this problem? What a crappy day. And even worse, I have like a gazillion things to do today and tomorrow that are due on Friday, the last day of classes. At least that's something to look forward to. Oh, on a good note, my school is showing Spiderman 2 tonight, so me and a few girls are going to go watch that and take a break from all of our homework and stuff. Eww, now I need to go do my dishes.

Woo-hoo!

Yay! I am getting a different roommate next semester! True, I will have to move all of my stuff out of this room because the girl who I am going to live with would rather not move up 2 flights of stairs(who can blame her?) so I might need some help with that...this is a good thing, otherwise I would have had to pay more $ for a single room and I just cannot afford that. Ah well. Speaking of good things, my wonderful boyfriend is coming over soon which is really cool. But until then, I have to get somewhat of a start on this theology paper...ewww.

2 am

I am not someone who usually stays up really really late, at least not if I can help it. However, since I've come to college I don't think I've gone to bed before 10, and that was during cross country season when I had races. Tonight after I went to St Thomas Eric came over here, since girls aren't allowed in his dorm past 12, and we can have guys until 2 any night, and he stayed until close to 2. That's why I'm up so dang late tonight. Luckily, since I don't have anything on Tuesdays, I get to sleep in. Isn't college life just great? I seriously love it. Stay up late, wake up late. Too bad I have an 8:15 class next semester. :( Ah well, I'll live.

Psychology and the Sciences

Just to clear up some misinformation that some of my siblings (aka Gina and Kendrick) have been spreading around, psychology is a science. And unlike what Kendrick claimed it to be in a recent comment on my mothers post, it is not an "impure science." The comment I am refering to is one that said we have 3 scientists in our family, 2 pure. Ouch. Psychology is a "pure" science-it studies mental processes and behaviors, using the SCIENTIFIC METHOD! It follows all of the same rules as the more "strict" or "pure" sciences such as biology and chemistry follow. And also, to tell you the truth, it doesn't really matter anymore anyway, since I'm changing my major. I'm no longer a psychology major, although I will fight for it since it is a most interesting topic. However, don't worry about not having 3 "pure" scientists in the family. I'm thinking along the lines of sociology now, mostly because it's extremely broad, and since I have no clue as to what I'm going to do when I "grow up", I figure it might be a good choice. We'll see. Anybody have any other ideas for majors? (Matt, if you say philosophy I think I might get sick. That's not something that interests me nearly as much as it interests you.)

Roommate Issues

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world (or at least my school) that has major roommate issues. My roommate is so inconsiderate. Every boundary I have set, everything that I have said is off limits or that she needs to ask me about first she has done without asking. Heck, she took my shoes and lied when I asked her where they were! That is just not a good situation right there. The current issue deals with something that is not mine. Gina, if you read this you might get ticked off but don't worry I dealt with it. Gina is letting me borrow all of her dvds for the semester, which is incredible nice, but she asked that I don't lend them out to other people. I relayed this message to Raven (my roommate) at the beginning of the year so that the dvds wouldn't be disappearing all of the school. Well, yesterday she came in while I was hanging out with Eric, and said she was going to grab a movie. She comes back a few minutes later and ends up going to sleep. Which means she wasn't watching the movie, she was lending it to her friends-without permission and breaking the one rule that I had with the dvds. They are not even my property which made it even worse. I talked to her about it and told her she cannot do that anymore, but even while I was talking to her I got the impression that she did not just forget the rule, but completely ignored it. It is a somewhat tense situation, however, I think it may have a good ending. She possibly is going to room with someone else next semester. That would be an answer to my prayers! So everyone, please pray that she will not be rooming with me next semester! I don't care if I get a new roommate or live by myself, it would just be a better situation.
