Back to School
Well, I've been at school for 4 days now, classes don't actually start until next week but I have a week of really hard cross country practices before my really hard classes get added to even harder cross country practices! We have a new coach this year, which is both disappointing and interesting. He seems nice so far, but the workouts are already longer and harder, which is not that great when I think I put in less mileage over this summer than last summer. Add the fact that I'm having knee problems, I'm almost last on the team again because 8 or 9 people are gone (graduated or quit) and we only got 4 new runners, so we're down to 11, and we have to pay $35 for "gear and more nutritional food at meets and other things", I almost felt like quitting. But so far I'm sticking it out and I'm sure it will get better. We've only ran 3 days this week and I've already put in 19 miles-and that's the least of anyone on the team. I think it should be a good season though. We're running 1 less meet, which means an extra free weekend!
My roommate Megan moves in Friday. I'm really excited to live with her again this year-just the two of us in a double with a bathroom. It's going to be a good year. I have the normal 16 credits again this year, 4 classes. I still have to fit 2 credits of phy. ed. somewhere into the next 2 years. Hopefully at AR, so I don't have to pay $750 a credit for a dumb gym class. My classes this semester will hopefully be good, but hard. I have Classical Philosophy, an Honors Seminar entitled Holy Writ Rewrit (it's theology and literature), Global Search for Justice:Enviornmental Justice, and Classical Mythology. The last one is my fun class, since there weren't any classes that fit my majors that I was interested in or that fit my schedule or that I needed. I'm really glad I got a chance to take Mythology though; it's so interesting and I hear the prof. is great so I'm really looking forward to it!
One last thing before my song quote-does anybody know how to do a date countdown on AIM, or do I just need to change the day everyday?
And we'll run for our lives
