Partylite

I am at the end of my first weekend as a Partylite consultant. I had 2 shows, and they both went fairly well. Although I cannot enter either of them online yet. Well, I am waiting for printer paper so I can print the show summary for the show I held today, and I am waiting for Gina's friends to give her a few orders until I can enter that one. I only have a few days until I need to enter the show, otherwise I'm not sure what happens but something bad I'm sure. Overall, the shows went well. Friday was a little shaky, I was just getting off the ground but everybody was really nice about it, and today I was better and the people were also really nice. So things are going well with that. I did miscalculate the order though, so I had to call my hostess and she needs to send me a new check. Oops. On the bright side, it worked out in her favor--she actually owes less, but unfortunately there is 1 item she can't get. She didn't seem too heartbroken over it though.
All in all, things with Partylite are going well. I'm still happy I decided to do it, which is definitely a good thing! Plus it's fun to get out and meet people and they are usually excited about all the cool things I am selling. I'm getting better too, so soon I will have perfected everything and really know what I am talking about, and hopefully I won't screw up any more orders!

Kill Bill

Eric and I went out tonight to go buy the Kill Bill movies. Our Best Buy only had Kill Bill Vol. 2. We ended up getting nothing. This has been the second time in the past few months that we have gone to Best Buy for specific movies and they haven't had them. At least they were just out--last time, we went to get the Patriot and the Breakfast Club, big movies, and they didn't even sell them. They sell some of the weirdest movies ever, but they don't have those? I am starting to get disappointed with them. They're really dropping the ball.

Election Day

It is not easy to find information on the lesser known elections, such as judges and conservation district supervisors. Eric finally found our ballot online, and then I proceeded to look up as much information as I could on the people I knew nothing about. I have found it so difficult this election season to find information on anybody who isn't running for congress, either state or national (or president). I want to be an informed voter, but it isn't easy! I have found some information, but I still think I am going to have a hard time knowing who to vote for when it comes time to cast my vote. I might reserve my right not to vote for certain candidates who I know nothing about. I know it is important to vote, but it is just as important to know for who/what you are voting, otherwise you might end up making things worse, not better. What do people think about the not voting option? Obviously, I am voting for the "important" or more accurately well-known offices, but for the smaller ones, is it better to vote for someone you don't know anything about (even if you have tried to find information) or better to refrain from voting so as not to make the wrong choice? Either way, I am getting excited for election day and what it will bring--no matter who wins, I think things are going to be different in this country soon. Plus, elections are always exciting, it's a great time for our nation, to look back at where we started and why we made the decisions that we did. It feels good to be able to vote and participate in our country's democracy.
