Countdown

9 days until the wedding-that's the big one!
5 1/2 hours of work left
6 days until I get to try out soft contacts
7 days until the bachelorette party
8 days until the rehearsal
11 days until we leave for our honeymoon
3 days until the sister night (which hopefully everybody can go to)

I think that's about it for countdowns, seems like a lot but pretty soon everything will be happening-everything already is happening so fast! I just hope that the next week and then the wedding and all that entails goes at a pace that allows Eric and me to enjoy it thoroughly!

Contacts

I'm not sure if I wrote about this problem earlier in the summer, but I have a problem with my contacts. The problem is, I haven't really been able to wear them since early June. For some odd reason that I do not really know, they caused me particular trouble and I was unable to wear them, especially my right eye one, for more than a few hours at a time before they would start causing me unbelievable pain. Needless to say, I stopped wearing them and have been wearing my glasses for most of the summer, except for the rare occasion recently when I have started to wear my contacts for a few hours at a time again to get used to wearing them since I want to wear them for the wedding. I go into the eye doctor on Thursday, and I'm hoping he will be able to help me. Basically the problem is now this-I'm not really used to wearing them, I'm afraid if I wear them for more than a few hours at a time they will hurt again, they're not very comfortable to wear which says I either need to get new ones or stop wearing them altogether, and I'm not sure that the doctor will be able to help me at all. They dry out my eyes pretty quickly. I wear hard contacts, and I'm not sure if I want to stick with them or switch to soft. That brings up another problem-do I stick with hard because they are better for my eyes and I have been wearing them so long, and risk having the same problems again? Or do I switch to soft and risk making my eyes worse of not even being able to get used to them, and especially not being able to get used to them by the wedding? I'm not even sure that whatever I get I will have in time for the wedding, but I refuse to wear my glasses on my wedding day for crying out loud. What I really want to do is get Lasik, but not only do I not have near enough money for it I also don't have enough time before the wedding to go through the whole process. Whatever I do I'll have to pay a large chunk of on my own because insurance only covers so much, and I'm worried that I'll be wasting a lot of money and not be able to wear contacts. Unfortunately I could only make an appointment for Thursday at the earliest, so I'm hoping whatever happens all my problems with my eyes will be solved in the 9 days after my appointment and before the wedding. Yeah right.
