Hurry Up!

Not much to write about, except to say that I wish it would be August 18th already! I know people keep saying "just enjoy these last few weeks" and I'm trying, but it's really hard when Eric and I still don't see each other very much and it just seems like things would be more fun if it was sooner! At least I only have 8 days left of work, so once I am done with that then there is only a week left until the wedding. Plus, Eric and I are done on the same day so we will be able to spend all of our free time together hanging out and doing all of our final touches! On a final note, since I don't really feel like looking up song lyrics anymore, and people hardly ever guess at them anyway, I'm going to take a hiatus on that and maybe once school starts and I blog more (hopefully I will once this busy summer is over and the busy school year starts) I will do it again.

Work

Only 10 days of work left, and if I have another week like last one I just might quit after 2 days. It was so long and boring and hot, and Maria and I worked 50 hours so 10 hours extra, and it seriously dragged on and on. Plus I was tired and I think I may have had heatstroke or something, so I felt awful the whole week. I am just praying that the next 2 weeks cruise by so then I will be done, and I will only have a week until the wedding! As it is, there are only 20 days left and I am dying for it to be here. If you are the kind of person who would, please say a couple extra prayers for me and Eric as we go through these last couple of weeks!

Frankenbride

That's my personal phrase, the one I use instead of Bridezilla. I'm using it to describe myself today actually. I didn't think I would really be a Frankenbride, but I sortof had a flip-out at Eric today. Partially it was his fault, partially it was just a lot of wedding stress, the wedding being only 27 days away, and part of it was just a freak-out on my part. I feel bad about it a little bit, but on the other hand, we have so much to do and not very many days left to get it all done. I think we did a lot this weekend, but I'm not sure. There is so much left to do I feel like we're not making any progress at all, but I'm sure we are. We did figure out who is getting flowers, what flowers we're having, and they are being ordered by our "decorator" this week. She's also getting us all of the ribbon and tulle and pretty much everything we need to decorate the church and the reception hall, which is so wonderful. She's also doing my and my bridesmaids dress alterations. It's nice to have somebody who is so good at this kind of thing, because I definitely am not super great at it. Not that I'm not crafty, but she can get everything done fast and it will definitely look good. Speaking of my dress, I have my final fitting next Sunday (well, my final altering fitting-I'm sure once she's done I will try it on AGAIN) to make sure everything is perfect. Hopefully that will be the weekend after next, which is also the weekend Eric and I move into our apartment. That's August 4th, for those of you who don't know. If you're around, please help! Some of you don't have a choice, but if you are available it would be great to have some extra hands helping us out. I think it's going to be me, Eric, his parents, my parents, his friend Dan, and Famoso. Then anybody else who can. I'm very excited to get into our apartment. I'm excited to get married too, but it's getting so busy and stressful that it's hard to focus on the happy part of it and too easy to focus on the work part of it. Most of it's not work though, because it's fun and I like doing it. Some of it though, has become a bigger hassle then it should be. Oh well, like I said, only 27 days and then I will be married!

Just freak out, let it go

Too busy to write

I am way too busy to keep up a blog lately. This week especially. Wedding plans are in full, full, swing, more than I think I expected. Before it was just weekends that I had to worry about doing most things, but now I think it's going to be every day. Lucky me. Actually, it's not too bad-I mean, I'm crazy busy, but mostly it's fun. Mostly though I just want August 18th to be here so I can marry Eric. And have a couple weeks off to relax with him before school starts again. It's really hard not seeing him very much, especially since we have so much to do. It feels like we get together on the weekends and do wedding planning and then say goodbye and go to work during the week. We have started to see each other during the week though, which I kindof suspected might happen. It's just too hard otherwise, and it gives us a bit more time to catch up with each other and stay more connected. 5 more weeks, and we will be able to see each other every day. And even better than just seeing each other, we'll be sharing our lives together.

The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.

Let Them Eat Cake

Eric and I have spent the past 2 weekends trying to figure out and order our wedding cake. We're doing something a bit non-traditional to serve our guests, but we were looking to get a small tiered cake for us and the head table and immediate families. Now we're not even sure if we're going to do that. It's a lot more complicated than I expected, and I still really want to do a traditional cake (at least a small one) instead of just our non-traditional cake. Even though it's more expensive to do both things, I don't want to look back in 10 years and say "I wish we would have gotten a tiered cake too". So we have to figure out some way to do both things I think.

Pretty soon I need to schedule hair and nail appointments for me and my bridal party, and really any family members who want them done. So, if I haven't already asked you, let me know if you want a manicure, a pedicure, and/or your hair done. Manicures and pedicures will be done the day before the wedding, and hair obviously the day of. Manicures are $11 I think, and pedicures $15, and hair is kindof depending on length-we're doing everything at Regency which is why it seems a lot cheaper.

We've been getting rsvp's back, but not even 1/2 yet. Hopefully people will get on that and send them in. We said by July 31st because we have to give the hall a final number obviously, and I'm not sure how we're going to calculate the final number of guests with only a fraction of the rsvp's in. I'm sure we'll get a lot more, but I really like getting them so if you read this and haven't sent in your rsvp please do so!

The 4th of July was pretty fun and relaxing. At first I wasn't excited that it was in the middle of the week, but it actually ended up being really nice. I got a break from work and was able to sleep in, plus it was just really nice to only have to work 2 days, and now only having to work 2 days again and then getting a break. It's a nice schedule. It was also really nice to spend the day with my family at the Aquatic Center and then at home, grilling out, and finally at Sand Creek watching fireworks. Although, that gets harder and harder to do every year. It seems like the police don't even need to be there because they don't bother to enforce anything anyway. People smoke like crazy, drink like crazy, and shoot of their own fireworks like crazy, all of which I'm pretty sure are against park or city regulations. Not to mention it's just disgusting. And it goes pretty late, then there's lots of traffic, and I have to get up early in the morning to go to work again. Last night we were smart with our parking and got out faster than we have any other year. Still, people are terrible drivers and very rude at that time of night. Not that most people are any better during the day, in my experience. Still, it was nice to spend time with my fiance and my family, not really having to worry about anything.

Speaking of work (sortof) I'm really starting to get sick of it. Mostly just tired and burning out-this is my 6th summer and I just need to get out of there. I'm ready to be done. At least I'm past the 1/2 way point though, so hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here. Plus I changed my last day-I was working up until the Tuesday before the wedding, but I asked if it was ok if I stopped earlier and ended the Friday before so I can have the entire week before the wedding off. They said it was ok, and truthfully I don't think they really care that much at all which is good for me. I'm not taking any days off, even though we get 5, so I can't see how they would make a big deal about it. Whatever, I'm done earlier than I orginally planned, so that's a bonus for me. More time to relax and get ready to get married!
