It's All Over

My project is done. Not quite completely, but pretty dang close. I presented it yesterday to about 10 people, which I think is pretty good for an honors project. It was mostly faculty, which was pretty nerve-racking. It went well though, so I'm told by pretty much everyone who went. I feel pretty good about it too. I was really nervous, and I could have done a few things a litle better, but overall it was good. I'm happy with the job I did and I feel like everyone who went was happy with the job I did too. People seemed really impressed by what I had done, so I feel like I can look forward to more of this in the future. I feel like it's a real possibility for me to do this with my life. Not necessarily on this specific issue, although sexual ethics is interesting to me, but just doing theology from or in combination with other perspectives. I think it is an important undertaking that can give a lot of insight into people's lives and how they relate to God and live out their faith. Plus it's fun, even though it has been really hard. My whole project was a challenge, but I am glad that I did it. Pretty much the only thing I have left to do is write my conclusion, then send the final draft to my committee to have them look over it for any big issues, and then I get to turn it in! It's due April 1st, but I will probably turn it in shortly after spring break.

Having this project done is a huge relief. I enjoyed it, but like I said, it was a lot of work, and a lot of stress. Now that it's basically done, I get to enjoy spring break, have a nice rest from life for a couple of days, and then when I get back to school I only have my 3 classes to worry about. I don't even have that much homework over break to deal with, so I'm happy about that. I do need to start applying to graduate school, so that is my "big" project for break. No real rush there, and I won't even be able to get letters of recommendation until after break, so I have nothing stressful for awhile. It feels good!

I may have been a lonely home-wrecking whore, but I saved lives!

Boy Thursday is Coming Fast

My presentation is this Thursday, at noon. I am not ready. I have started my presentation, so I'm a lot more ready than I was 2 days ago, but I feel completely unprepared. I still am lost when it comes to some of my data, and I'm meeting with that professor on Tuesday to go over some more of it and hopefully get a good grip on everything so when I present I don't look like a fool. And if I get bombarded with questions, maybe I'll be able to answer them. I'm also worried that the room I have booked won't be big enough. I didn't get to choose it-they just assigned it to me. It's this tiny room on the top floor in one of the buildings, and seriously, this is the emptiest place on campus it seems like. So that's frustrating. I feel like a lot of people have told me they are coming and I am worried that there won't be enough room. On the flip side, I feel like no one will come and I will be a big loser. I go back and forth on that. Yet another worry that I have is with the technology available to me. I'm doing a power point presentation, but I don't know how to get it set up or if I need to bring any chords or anything like that, so I have to go up there this week and figure that out. I'm taking Eric with me because I'm using his laptop and I don't do things like this so hopefully he'll be able to help me figure it out. If you can't tell from my post, I'm pretty much in freak-out mode. To top things off, I have a midterm paper due the day after my presentation. Two very big things due this week. My project comes first but there is no way I can write that paper in one day, so I not only have to finish and practice my presentation, as well as meet with my professor, I also have to write that paper and get all my other course work done. And go to work, and Sigrid's project presentation. Maybe I'm freaking out over nothing, but it is a lot of work. Most of my stress is directly related to the project. Everything else just adds to it.

By the way, if anyone wants to come to my presentation, it's Thursday at noon in the CDC (Couer de Catherine) room 495. It should be good. Or completely embarassing for me. Entertaining either way.

"What'd they get you for?"
"I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?"

Sick

I cannot believe it-I have strep. Which not only includes a sore throat, but a fever of over 101, chills (or insane warmth-can't wait for real hot flashes), and an aching body. I'm so sore it hurts to sit even. Of course, that may be due to the penicillen shot they gave me in my posterior. Which hurt. And made me have more chills, and oh goody, pass out. No wonder they make you wait 1/2 an hour before you can leave after you get the shot. I thought it would be better to get the shot because then I don't have to pay for a prescription, or go to the store and get it, but that was a big mistake. For one thing, I didn't realize they were going to do it in my butt (it's such a thick needle they have to-I should have remembered that from when I took Jeph to the doctor a few years back and he got the shot), and then the side effects were brutal. Next time I'm going with the pills. Of course, I hope there won't be a next time. I even had to miss class, which sucks. I know, I'm a big loser for actually being annoyed about missing class, but since all my classes are discussion-based, it's important that I go. Who am I kidding? I would have been annoyed no matter what kind of class it was. Eric's not sick yet, and I really hope he doesn't get sick. Gina is, but her test came back negative (so far) but she has all the same symptoms as me plus Eric and I were just at their house 2 days ago, and I started feeling sick yesterday. I hate being sick. And I'm just not good at it. I am a whiner. And I need to do homework but haven't been able to do more than lay around. Actually, I'm immensely surprised I managed to get to my computer to write this. Of course, I'm probably really rambling because my mind is so unfocused. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow, so I can go to work (I had to miss that today too) and my class tomorrow night. And get my homework done.

Oh look at this! Sons of the pharaohs! Give me frogs! Flies, locusts! Anything but you. Compared to you the other plagues were a joy!
